Gerald began his financial services career in 1984 and has supported a wide spectrum of individuals and businesses ranging in size. He has extensive knowledge of retirement plan strategies, from plan design through annual administration to the plan termination process. Gerald’s experience has qualified him to direct the consulting services area for Rehmann’s retirement plan division. Before focusing on retirement plans, Gerald practiced extensively in the areas of individual, corporate and partnership taxation. Gerald develops creative strategies that help clients work toward success, integrating retirement plan design, consulting, administration and investment advisory services with overall business and financial plans. He works with a cross functional team to proactively guide each client, considering tax law and efficiencies, estate planning, and accounting needs.
Gerald holds a BS in accounting from Central Michigan University and has received the C(k)P® Certified 401(k) Professional, Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst®, and the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist® (CEBS) designations. He holds an accident, health and life insurance license and is an investment advisor representative. He has been voted one of the most 60 Influential Advisors in the Defined Contribution Market by The 401k Wire, and as a thought leader in the industry, has been quoted extensively in publications including Financial Advisor Magazine, US News & World Report and Investment News. Gerald is actively involved in professional organizations, including the Center for Fiduciary Studies (CEFEX), National Association of Plan Advisors (government affairs committee), and is a founding lecturer for The Retirement Advisory University (UCLA Anderson School of Management Executive Education).
